school v/s college life

After something that seems like a century, I finally did come up with a topic to write on and it’s going to be the Metamorphosis “School life” to “College life”...and how College actually feels.
A lot of people think School life was cooler, and a lot of them think otherwise. School teachers will tell you to study harder in school, because college is all about fun. College teachers will tell you “Now you’re entering the real world. Study hard, because you won’t be spoon-fed the way you were in school.” School kids can’t wait to get to college, and college students wish they were in school. So I tried to figure out how life changes once you leave the “spoon feeding” and enter “The Real world !!”

What I’m about to explain below can actually be explained in just one line. But since I’ve been asked (cough cough…blackmailed) to write this,I have to extend this post, so even if you’re wishing that this ends here, I’m sorry I can’t do that right now, so I’ll just begin with comparing College with School.

In School, You sleep late, and end up sleeping in class. Switch to College.Instead of sleeping in class, you can choose to stay in bed. In school, you read the schedule to figure out what classes can you miss. You keep a check on the schedule in college to see which classes do you need to attend. School is when you drink water from everyone else's bottles. College is when you smell it before drinking, just to make sure its actually water !! School is when you set your clock ahead of time, just to be on time.In college, neah, it makes no difference, you're still late. In school, you know nothing, and still ace a test. In college, you know everything, and still fail.... You have to wake up for school at 6 a.m. In college, thats when you sleep ! In school, most of your classmates are extremely dumb. In college...well...that's one thing that doesn't really change.

Thats what College life is.Well, thats a lot like what it is,atleast in the beginning. Living the most amazing days, and still thinking to yourself "I hate my Life !!". Its when you are so busy, that you don't have time to do your homework. It's when you're stressed out,and can't figure out why. It's when you begin liking your cafeteria, just because you realize that "horrible coffee" is better than "no coffee". It's when you have 4 essays and a midterm all due within 3 days of each other and you are out partying with friends.College is...When You "discover" a new cute girl on campus everyday! It's when every cancelled class is as exciting as christmas. Its when weekends start on Thursdays. Actually...Wednesdays.College is, When procrastination becomes an art.

On a more serious note,Theres more to college life, other than what I mentioned above.Things like Studies..Assignments...Examinations...and Loads of depression given by the three. But I don't really want to write about that.An optimist sees the glass as half full.A pessimist sees it as half empty.I see a complete story in it.I believe that if the glass is half full...so there'll be a super cute waitress who'll cum n fill it up to make it completely full...who'll instantly fall in love with me...after 6 months of dating, she'll tell me she's actually the princess of a Victorian state and was disguised just to find true love...so we'll marry in a palace...then our child will grow up to be prime minister...and after conquering USA,we'll attack china...then..

I realize that this article is actually going nowhere,so I guess I should end it here.Lessons, morals, and quotes are a good way to put an end to an article. What I'll leave you is with a thought...(actually an excuse for highlighing only the yummier elements of college life, and not the deeper darker parts...but it's true). Sometimes, leaving the negatives behind, and looking at the positives actually does make life cooler. And admit it, reading an extremely random article about College Life is interesting !!

  1. Well , tht was too long and took me 20 mins too read.. lolzz.

but yes i agree with divij.. school lyfe and college lyfe is actually 2 phases of lyfe which has maxmimum moments.(gud nd bad) .

hmm well if i was suppose to choose one of the two then it would have been impossible coz school is like just the starting and college is the last step after which one finally gets to enter the real world well, thts wat i think...

college lyfe is jst not limited to assignments , coarse-work , exams or preparations but it actually has a larger picture attached to it . i mean imagine if there was no college then how could one knw abt team-working , networking , stress management , time management and etc.. henceforth college is really important and one need to focus on a larger picture and gain knowledge rather than cribbing about.. (cough.. cough .. got it divij)

ya i agree with the fact tht school life is fun but the truth is in order to get the train one need to know how to walk and stand on the platform so.. school teaches us hw to walk and college provides the platform... (omg after this comment i should start writing a book.. hmmmm , not a bad idea i guess)

well but at the end i would say tht everyone should jut enjoy both the phases keeping in mind its importance...

  2. I agree there are differences between college and school life. To sum up my views i think in school, we only "think" what we are going to to do in life. In college we "know" what our future looks like.

  3. Firstly I would like to congratulate Divij for writing such a fabulous article!!! Like the two sides of a coin both school life and college life have their own pros and cons. Life has a lesson for everyone to learn and people should try and learn even from their past experiences. Having said that I would like to conclude saying that we should take things as the come and should enjoy every bit of it.................

  4. Its a wonderful article...its says so much and yet you have been able to bring a lot of real life into it...its not a goody -two-shoes article and it shows how we undergraduates are still very simple and yet trying to be mature. We want all the fantasies of our dreams to come true within a REAL life situation, thats simplicity in its original form and my only wish is that we remain such like...simple and pure.Today we want to behave cool be part of the crowd as acceptance is such a BIG thing for this generation...I wish this generation could be mature enough to be themselves .Every person is unique and every child has a different personality ...its what makes the sugar and spice in this world...so why cant people have more tolerance and patience with each other today??Above all where's the resspect for each other gone...???...Manners and respect for our elders ?...Love and compassion are two words this generation talks about loosely but doesnt really understand the meaning off...I am glad though that I am part of an institution where such values are still in tact and when I see my friends and teachers around me there is a sense of belonging and a sense that all is not lost...Kudos to all of you for being Good Human Beings and thanks to our teachers for providing proper guidance in the true sense of the word...

This is too mushy and yes there will be times when we will miss school but its great to know that every morning when one gets up one actually looks forward to going to college ...now whether its for the cafeteria or the fest or just meeeting up with friends to plan an outing...its Fun!!!...and I am looking forward to more...Yeh hai youngistaan!!!...
